'Mapping the Cacti of Mexico Part 1'
This is the first attempt to use what documented information there is from a wide range of herbarium sources – 68 in all - to map the locations of 33 genera and 114 species from Mexico using over 5783 records from over 33000 recorded to date. Some of the major genera have been excluded – Coryphantha, Mammillaria, Ferocactus, Echinocereus and Opuntia – where the taxonomy is still problematic or there is insufficient location information available, but there are many other popular genera included such as Ariocarpus and Turbinicarpus etc. None the less it is a very useful and interesting book, which in addition to the maps does provide additional information on the habitats the plants come from as well quite a number of colour photos of some of the plants both in habitat and cultivation. Volume 7 of Succulent Plant Research published by David Hunt. 2011 9 ½ x 6 ¾ 128 pages
