'The Nature of Plants'
A fascinating look at how plants have adapted to the wide variety of habitats in the world. The authors are both in New Zealand, and the book has a more southern hemisphere content than perhaps many other similar books. The book looks at plants using plants (climbers, epiphytes and parasites), desert and seasonally arid areas, fire and plants, serpentine and salt, rivers and other wet places, mountain and arctic, relationship with animals and finally with fungi, bacteria, lichens and viruses. All well illustrated and a good read. 2005 10 ½ x 7 ½ 314 pages
